Sports Taping
Reinforce muscles and joints
Sports taping is used for many reasons
Our physiotherapist may offer sports taping as the recommended treatment for your injury. Sports taping is used for many reasons, including but not limited to:
- joint stability
- ligament support
- to encourage altered biomechanics
- restrict painful movements and prevent re-injury
- provide compression to promote tissue healing.

Rigid strapping tape
Rigid strapping tape is used to help stabilise joints as an injury prevention measure or an injury treatment strategy to aid in reducing pain for return to work, or if you are ready to get back into your favourite sports or workouts.
It can be used to tape ankles, shoulders, knees, wrists, fingers and many other body parts with the aim of restricting movement in ligaments, tendons, and joints when engaging in physical exercise or going about your daily life. A hypoallergenic underlay may be used in those with sensitive skin.
Kinesiology tape
Kinesiology tape can be used to help reduce pain and swelling after injury. It also provides sensory input to the skin to help encourage muscles to move in a more biomechanically friendly way to help treat or prevent injuries.
As with rigid strapping tape, it can be used on many joints in the body including shoulder, elbow, wrist, knees, ankles, and thighs, etc.
Elastic adhesive bandage
This bandage tape is a lot stretchier and is often used immediately after injury to help provide support and compression to the injured area so the tissue begins to heal.
It helps improve movement in the affected area, making it especially great for joints that get a lot of action, like your elbows and knees.
