Flexible Funding Options


We offer flexible access to our allied health services through a range of funding pathways to support your individual needs:

Medicare

Allied health services may be subsidised through GP Management Plans (Chronic Disease Management Plans) – providing rebates for a five (5) sessions per year

Private Health Insurance

Depending on your level of cover, you may be eligible for rebates for allied health services. We recommend checking with your provider for specific details.

Private Health Insurance

We’re proud to be part of nib’s First Choice physio network. If you have Extras cover, get 100% back* on your initial consultation and agreed rates^ when you see one of our Altaira Allied Health Physiotherapists. You can even claim on the spot after your appointment. Lower your out-of-pocket costs and stretch your Extras limits further by seeing one of our physios!

Note: *100% refers to 100% of the First Choice agreed rate. This No Gap offer is only available for an in-person initial consultation (item 500) which refers to the first session provided by the practitioner in respect of an injury, or the first session in a new episode of care for the same injury. This excludes follow-up consultations, long consultations, telehealth consultations and group classes. Payment by nib of physio benefits is subject to waiting periods, annual limits and service limits. nib Fund Rules and Policy booklet terms apply. Check your cover by visiting your member account or call 13 16 42. The services provided will be deducted from your annual limits and/or service limits. It cannot be substituted or redeemed for cash. ^ An agreed rate is a set price agreed upon by nib and your healthcare provider for certain services or treatments.

NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)

Participants can access dietetic, exercise physiology and physiotherapy services under their NDIS plans to support capacity building, independence, and overall wellbeing.

Support at Home (formerly Home Care Packages)

Older adults receiving aged care funding can use their package to access allied health services, with a focus on maintaining independence, function, and quality of life.

DVA (Department of Veterans’ Affairs)

Eligible veterans and dependents may access fully funded (GAP free) allied health services, including with a GP referral.

Private (Self-Funded)

Services are also available on a private, fee-for-service basis, offering flexibility without referral requirements.

Leading Altaira Allied Health

Leading Altaira Allied Health is Michael Zoumaras - a highly experienced physiotherapist, who specialises in Aged Care and Occupational Health/Workplace Health & Safety. With dual degrees in Physiotherapy and Medical Science, Michael brings over a decade of clinical and operational expertise across diverse sectors including aged/community care, sports, construction, and defence.

His passion lies in helping individuals maintain independence and achieve long-term functional outcomes, values that continue to shape his leadership at Altaira. Since joining Altaira in early 2021 as Allied Health Operations Manager, Michael has built the Allied Health team from the ground up, fostering a culture of trust, professionalism, and evidence-based practice.

He has also developed a high-quality Pre-Employment Functional Assessment service, tailored to meet the specific needs of employers and reduce workplace risk. Michael’s greatest accomplishment while working at Altaira has been building the Allied Health team from scratch, focusing on building a culture of trust and ensuring the team's high professional standard.
