How did you get into your chosen field?
I’ve always been passionate about how movement and exercise can transform someone’s confidence and wellbeing, and that inspired me to get into this field.
What are your qualifications?
I have a Bachelor’s degree, as well as some additional professional development in geriatric care, MSK and hydrotherapy.
How long have you been an Physio and what are your past experiences in allied health?
I have been working in this field for several years and also have experience in community rehab and hydrotherapy.
What is your favourite way to move your body?
I love walking and aerobics.
How do you help people achieve their goals?
I like to take the time to understand an individual persons needs and goals to therefore create peronalised exercise and treatment plans, primarily focusing on motivation and education.
What is one thing that you wish everyone knew about Physiotherapy?
I wish more people knew that Physiotherapy helps to prevent problems, improves functional ability, enhances wellbeing through balance and coordination – which are key to preventing injury.
What’s your approach to helping clients?
I listen to clients carefully, ensure I build rapport, and make personalised goals as I believe consistent steps make the biggest difference in someone’s improvement.
What’s the most rewarding client success story you’ve experienced?
The most rewarding client success story I’ve experienced is when I helped an elderly client to regain her ability to walk independently after a fall. Her confidence increased and she trusted therapy management. Her happiness in regaining confidence was incredibly fulfilling .
What do you like the most about working with Altaira?
I enjoy being part of multidisciplinary team where we can share knowledge, support each other and all learn from one another.
What’s your favourite way to stay active outside of work?
I like spending time outdoors such as going on evening walks.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy walking, painting, reading novels, and spending time with family and friends every weekend.
