Altaira hosts personal development event at Tea Tree Gully Swimming Club
The Tea Tree Gully Swimming Club along with Altaira Allied Health recently hosted a personal development session for junior performance swimmers.
Held at the Tea Tree Gully Swimming Pool Waterworld, this event featured a two-hour session led by Altaira Allied Health’s expert physiotherapist, Michael.
The session focused on physiotherapy, which was for the development squads. It covered the importance of self-assessment and injury prevention with Michael conducting a series of assessments specifically designed to detect pain, assisted with technique as required, and demonstrated exercises for the young swimmers to use to strengthen their muscles.
The swimmers took home an abundance of information with them after the personal development day, including the fact that swimmers are a lot more prone to shoulder injuries and that keeping a good stretching routine makes a huge difference in injury prevention. Prevention is better than the cure!
Altaira Allied Health was proud to be hosting this event for the Tea Tree Gully Swimming Club. This day demonstrated Altaira Allied Health’s commitment to the local community and their dedication to supporting young athletes in reaching their full potential. Michael provided invaluable insights to the swimmers, and now they are better equipped to excel. This day is a shining example of how health professionals can make a meaningful difference in the world of sports.
