DVA Allied Health in Adelaide: How Altaira Supports Veterans Through Physiotherapy, Dietetics & Exercise Physiology
Australia’s veterans deserve care that meets them where they are; care that respects their service history, understands the unique physical and mental health challenges they face, and supports them to live independently and well. At Altaira Allied Health, we’re proud to offer DVA-aligned allied health services across physiotherapy, dietetics, and exercise physiology, designed specifically to help veterans and eligible DVA clients build capacity, restore function, and improve quality of life.
Whether you’re managing a service-related injury, navigating a chronic health condition, or working toward greater independence in daily life, our team is here to help.
What Is a DVA-Aligned Allied Health Service?
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) funds a range of health services for eligible veterans, war widows and widowers, and their dependants. Allied health services, including physiotherapy, dietetics, and exercise physiology, are among the supports that may be covered under DVA entitlements.
At Altaira, our clinicians are experienced in working within DVA frameworks. We take a capacity-building approach, meaning we don’t just manage symptoms, we work with you to set achievable, long-term goals that improve how you function in everyday life.
Physiotherapy for Veterans
Our physiotherapists deliver comprehensive, DVA-aligned assessments and ongoing treatment tailored to each veteran’s goals, service history, and daily routines. Services focus on improving mobility, physical function, independence, and participation in everyday life.
What our physiotherapists can help with:
• Comprehensive assessments and functional capacity evaluations
• Individualised, goal-directed physiotherapy plans
• Strength, balance, mobility, and endurance programs

We focus on building functional capacity and supporting Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), always respecting each veteran as an individual with unique goals and a personal story.

Our Collaborative Care Philosophy
At Altaira Allied Health, we believe great care is built on genuine relationships. Our allied health professionals work closely with veterans and their wider support networks, including GPs, care coordinators, family, and other health providers, to develop strategies that are realistic, meaningful, and built around each person’s goals.
We don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Every veteran we work with has a unique service history, a unique life, and unique goals. Our job is to listen, assess, and deliver care that genuinely makes a difference.
