Exercise Physiologist FAQ

1What can I expect from my first consult?
Your initial consult will include a discussion of your main reason for your consult, as well as your relevant medical history/injuries, current medications, your current physical activity levels and your overall goals for physical activity and exercise. We will then typically conduct any relevant short physical tests to help determine the right exercises for you as well as a baseline to compare future results. Finally, we work together to create an appropriate plan and exercise program to start working towards your goals.
2What funding can I utilise?
Depending on your situations, you may have access to different types of support to help fund your consults. You can utilise Medicare support if you have an Enhanced Primary Care Plan or Type II Diabetes Group Class Referral. We accept Private Health Funds which will often include Exercise Physiology support. We also accept funding through NIDS (as a non-registered provider), DVA, and RTWSA.
3What medical conditions/physical limitations can we help treat?
Arthritis, Diabetes (Type 1 & 2), cardiovascular disease (and other cardiac conditions), osteoporosis/penia, COPD (and other pulmonary conditions), back pain (and other joint pain), joint replacement preparation/rehabilitation, muscular injury rehabilitation, neurological conditions (stroke, Parkinson’s Disease), mental health conditions, and many more. Please contact us to discuss your situation so we can explore how to best help you.
